Launching major Business Intelligence projects can appear daunting to many companies. Also, no matter which BI technology solution your company chooses to implement, at the end of the day all your users probably want to do is export the data to Excel so they can work with it. Microsoft has realized this and taken the steps to empower business users to self-service BI through the tool they know best: Excel. Enter Power BI, providing extensive Business Intelligence tools in Excel Add-ins. In this session, we’ll take a tour through Microsoft’s Power BI and all it has to offer. Equal demo time will be given to each of the 4 pillars of Power BI:

  • Power Pivot: Combine data from numerous types of data sources and perform powerful data analysis.
  • Power View: Enable intuitive, ad-hoc reporting in an interactive data exploration, visualization, and presentation experience that can easily bring your reports to SharePoint and mobile devices.
  • Power Query: Search a world of data sources to discover the data you need.
  • Power Map: Analyze Geospatial data with powerful 3D visualizations.

About Azure SIG
The Cleveland Azure Special Interest Group (Azure SIG) (formerly the Cleveland .NET SIG) was founded in a partnership between Bennett Adelson and Microsoft 20 years ago. The SIG has become the forum for Azure collaboration and instruction from some of the brightest minds in the region. The organization was founded to provide enterprise customers and community with educational support on the Azure cloud platform. The group meetings consist of architecture and implementation focused, content-rich presentations and interactive discussions with demos. The audience ranges from Azure experts to those decision makers, infrastructure engineers, and developers that are getting their first glimpse of the cloud.
