Database performance issues are like household emergencies. You never want to them happen, and when they do, you often don't have the tools necessary to resolve them. Unlike a homeowner, DBAs cannot rely on the Yellow Pages to find a Database Repairman. We must have a variety of methods to both prevent and fix problems. In this session we will cover the many tools and techniques available to SQL Server DBAs for capturing baselines, identifying warning signs and troubleshooting performance issues.

About SQL SIG
The SQL Server Special Interest Group (SQL SIG) was founded in a partnership between Bennett Adelson and Microsoft. The SQL SIG has become the forum for SQL Server collaboration and instruction from some of the brightest minds in the region. The organization was founded to provide enterprise SQL developers and DBA's the opportunity to collaborate and listen to leading experts discuss various topics within SQL Server. Members include a broad range of disciplines and experiences, from the experienced SQL DBA or developer to a novice on the Microsoft platform.
